My old pair of Forclaz boots lasted over twelve months and dealt with ice, snow, flooding, rain and mud with ease. I walked between twelve and eighteen miles a week on pavement and woodland trails in complete comfort. I also thought that lasting twelve months was amazing seeing as my old pair of Scarpa walking shoes only lasted six months and cost twice the price
Today i went for a five mile walk in my new boots 'straight out of the box' with absolutely no problems whatsoever. They are so comfortable.
Some may feel a little hesitant to pay £70 for a relatively unknown brand of boot, but don't be. I have a pair of boots made by a top, well known brand that are retailing for £220 that have sat in the cupboard this last twelve months due to the Forclaz being as good as, if not slightly better than them, which is some feat for a boot three times cheaper. SO, the Forclaz is hardwearing, comfortable, waterproof, and excellent value for money. Buy with confidence.
Lightweight boot, decent grip. I have wide-ish feet and there is plenty of width and depth. They are waterproof to a point but will let some moisture in after a few hours of hiking. Worth the money if just using a few time a year over winter. If waterproofing was better I'd give 5 stars.
I purchased these a day ago and wore them today for a quick 4 mile. The first thing I noticed was how comfy they were. Lacing them up properly gave me a full sense of snugness with no slippage. The flexibility of the boot when walking was really impressive. Walking in the wet felt safe and secure. At the end, my feet were warm dry and had no discomfort. Highly recommended 👌
Not waterproof as I found out today. Used 3 times since purchasing. Walked snowdon today heavy rain. All waterproofs withstood the rain other than the boots! My feet and socks were wet when I arrived back at the car park. Although a comfy and nice looking boot. Not great for heavy rain. The outer suade also takes sometime to dry. Great for general walks light rain only.
The boots are ok but the upper lace clasp broke after a few months and well within the warranty. Managed to get a replacement pair but not before decathlon staff at Brighton had suggested I had damaged the shoes deliberately in order to get a refund. Dreadful customer service.
I had a pair of decathlon shoes that last almost 10 years and I loved them. I bought these ones thinking they would last as long, but I have to get rid of them since they are terrible. If you don't tie your laces and do even just a few steps, the metal clips that are on the sides act as "hooks". Since the untied shoe is very wide, the hooks catch each other's shoe, get tangled up and lead you to tumble. Of course, if you tie your shoes properly, this won't happen, but if you're camping and need use the toilet in the middle of the night, these shoes are the best recipe for a disaster.
Very comfortable walking boots, not really been tested in the rain yet.
