Technical Information

1
Fleece material: insulation provided by air
The purpose of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture (termed as 'brushed' when it consists of loops), this air keeps the body warm with its natural insulating properties.
2
Durability guaranteed for 2 years
We test the ageing of our hiking fleeces to make sure that they are durable. We guarantee: - resistance to abrasion from backpacks and moving arms, to delay pilling which is common with this material - the strength of the seams - the durability of the fleece material after 5 washes (dimensional stability) - colour fastness after washing, when exposed to UV light or on contact with perspiration.

Test
Our design team is based at the foot of the Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are appealing, simple and technologically advanced. They are then ruthlessly tested in the field, because we believe that the only way to continuously improve our products is to test them under the real-life conditions that you will experience in use.

Product test
We carry out 2 types of thermal tests: - we test our fleeces' material. - tested on a thermal manikin in a temperature chamber. We reproduce the same conditions of temperature, wind (5 km/h) and humidity found in the mountains on a 5 km/h walk. These tests allow us to validate our design choices, and we adapt the thermal insulation where you need it most.

99% perfect gilet
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Bought this to replace a craghopper on that the dog ate. This was so much cheaper so I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised, the fleece is soft but feels hard wearing, pockets lay really well, the zip is tiny but really usable, the only tiny issue I have, and it's tiny, is the slight gather and elastic around the sleeve. It's a personal thing but I don't think it adds to the look of the gilet. I wish I'd bought more, it is great as the weather chills down, and also thing enough for an addition layer under a coat.
