Reducing the risk of chafing
At the heel and toe, a polyamide component twisted with a second polyamide PTFE-coated thread reduces chafing which leads to blisters. In no circumstances do these socks provide 100% protection from blisters. Blisters generally appear when our skin is rubbed by chafing caused by our socks, shoes or foreign bodies. Humidity also plays an important role as it weakens our skin.
Thread features
The heel and toe of the sock are made from friction-free polyamide to reduce chafing. The remainder of the sock is made from a quick-drying polyamide to reduce the feeling of having a damp foot. Specific sections with towelling fabric, thicker and more comfortable. Ventilated, weaved sections to increase perspiration wicking.
Choosing the height of your socks
We offer 3 lengths of hiking socks. “Short” goes slightly above the shoes but under the ankles. “Mid” protect your ankles and stop just above them. These 2 lengths are sized to be worn with low shoes. “High” are perfect to wear with high-top hiking shoes as they stop just below the calf.
How to choose your hiking sock size
Each of our socks cover 4 shoe sizes (35/38, 39/42, 43/46, 47/50). The benefit of the elastane qualities in our socks is that they adapt well to your foot and stay in place. We all have different size feet, in length, proportion and volume: that's why it’s important to try on your hiking socks in store before purchase. Test out your socks in use before leaving on a long hike
