How to use your advanced bodyboarding leash.

This leash attaches to the bodyboard using the leash plug provided or already present on your bodyboard. To use it, place the cuff above your elbow on the side of your choice. Tighten the strap with your other hand and secure it with the rip-tab strap. NB: The cuff of this leash is too wide to be attached at the wrist.

Suitable for all types of conditions: Advanced level.

The components chosen for this leash provide good durability in all types of waves. However, be careful not to put yourself in a dangerous situation due to a broken leash.
Always check the condition of your leash before the session and avoid prolonged UV exposure. Systematically rinse it and store it in a dry place in the shade.

Compact design.

The benefit of a spiral leash is that it is compact and does not get in your way during practice. If this leash is stored for too long in a stretched position, the coil will relax and it will no longer be compact. It is therefore recommended to attach the adjustable end to the cord connected to the plug, using it and the rip-tab strap between each session. This will prevent the leash from stretching when not in use. See the illustration photo provided.

Where to install the leash plug on the bodyboard?

To install the plug on a bodyboard, first identify the correct location: Between 10 and 15 cm from the nose of the board and far enough away from any stringers.
If the board has 2 stringers, the plug must be central. If the board has a single stringer, the plug must be offset at least 5 cm from the middle of the board, on the right if you wear your leash on the right, or vice versa.

How to install the leash plug?

At the desired location, pierce a hole using a large Phillips screwdriver from below. (If you pierce from the top, you could damage the slick by lifting it off).
Insert the 2 parts of the plug one after the other, with the screw at the bottom.
Screw it in using a £2 coin until the slick warps slightly.

Safety and behaviour rules for the water - Part 1.

Bodyboarding is a fantastic sport, but one that requires everyone to respect certain basic rules to preserve the safety and enjoyment of all.
1- Ask about and observe the characteristics of the spot: current, rocks, tides, the size of the waves and the crowds, etc.
2- Don’t overestimate your level, and go for an easier spot if your skills aren’t on par with the conditions.
3- Use suitable equipment: Leash, fins and board in good condition, suitable wetsuit.

Safety and behaviour rules for the water - Part 2.

4- Respect the rules of right of way on the waves: Right of way goes to the person closest to the peak.
5- Follow the direction of the wave when moving towards the peak to keep from cutting another boarder off.
6- Use fins if the water is above your hips.
7- If you’re not using fins, it’s recommended you keep to a supervised area. Lifeguards can tell you where these are.
8- Bodyboard in a group.
