CHOOSING YOUR DOBOK
Taekwondo is a so-called "percussive" combat sport. Unlike judo, you do not grab your opponent's uniform (except in self defence).
This is why the dobok should be light with a loose cut to enhance freedom of movement. A child who is new to taekwondo should choose a twill fabric dobok (190 g/sqm) that is both flexible and lightweight.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOUR CHILD
The size of your child will determine the size of your dobok (from 110 cm to 150 cm).
In line with tradition, the doboks are made from cotton and have a natural tendency to shrink a few centimetres during the first 3 washes.
This is why we recommend choosing a dobok that is 5 to 10 cm bigger than your child. For example, if your child is 133 cm, chose a 140 cm dobok.
